In two weeks time on Friday 28th April, we have arranged another Bushcraft/Survival Skills Night. Run by an external company, you will be taking part in activities including fire-making, kelly kettles, building basic team shelters and making nettle cordage.
The evening will take place at ‘Thorn Wood’ which is located off Northwich Road, between Hartford and Weaverham (where the road speed limit goes to 40mph). You will need to wear old civvies and boots and have warm and waterproof clothing with you in case of inclement weather.
The timings for this parade night will also be slightly different, to make sure that we can complete all activities in the light. We will be meeting at 18:30 and finishing at 20:30.
The evening was a great success last year and again the civilian committee have kindly agreed to subsidise the cost to cadets (approximately £6 per head!) so it won’t cost you a thing.
If you are interested in attending the bushcraft night I MUST have your name in advance – if you turn up on the night without your name on the list, you may not be able to participate in activities as places are limited! Please note that the evening does clash with the Silver Practice expedition.
Please reply to this email or speak to me at the squadron to put your name down.
