Are you an ex-cadet, member of staff, or civilian committee member? The Squadron holds a reunion each year, normally on the Tuesday after Christmas Day, 7PM at Northwich Cadet Centre, CW8 1BT. Please get in touch for more details and to be added to the mailing list. We also have an Alumni Facebook page, which you can request to join here.

Tim Kenney – 25 May 2009

My Daughter Charlotte (Charlie) had never expressed any particular interest in Cadets until you presented to her School a number of years ago. She returned home that night brimming with enthusiasm to join – her only concern being the transport implications that it would impose on myself her mother. I am pleased to say that these concerns paled into insignificance against her enthusiasm. It was really the first time that Charlie had expressed any independence – something we actively encouraged.

Over the last few years Charlie has changed from a quiet girl into a very confident young lady – effectively completing all the practical requirements for Gold DoE with cadets even before her 17th Birthday!
146 Squadron has been fundamental to Charlie’s personal development in her late teenage years. The teamwork – leadership – Aviation Mechanics skills she has gained have no doubt shaped her decison to read Mech Eng at University in September 2009.

She leaves cadets a corporal with a BTEC in Aviation Studies and a past holder of The Currall Trophy with her head high ready to embrace the next Chapter of her life with confidence and a positive approach. I hold 146 squadron responsible in no small measure!

To anyone wondering whether to join – or get involved – DO – you won’t regret it!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank The Officers and Support staff for giving Charlie and her fellow cadets the most fantastic opportunity. Without you volunteering your time and commitment 146 Squadron would simply not exist.

Ladies – Gentlemen – I salute you.
