These pages contain useful information and contact details for potential new recruits. Feel free to ask us anything you may be unsure about, no matter how big or small!

We take new cadets on the first Tuesday of February and September each year, unless advertised otherwise. These evenings start at 7:30PM. Our minimum age is school year 8 for February recruitments and year 9 for September.

We will next be recruiting on the 16th of September 2025. This is a provisional date, which may be delayed until February 2026

Numbers will be limited, you must register your interest to be added to our waiting list, no “walk-ins” can be accommodated, including siblings of current cadets, as we maintain a priority list of enquiries received.

The first night will be an introduction and tour of the Squadron, new cadets will get the chance to meet other new recruits as well! We do ask that parents/guardians attend also, as there is a lot of useful information pass on.

If you cannot attend the introduction night, don’t worry! We will still be accepting new cadets for two weeks after this date.

Due to high numbers of enquiries, you must reply to confirm your place nearer the start of the recruitment date. Therefore, you may wish to provide additional email addresses / mobile numbers to us. All available email addresses and mobile numbers will be contacted to ensure this message is received. We cannot offer places if a reply is not received, or is received late.
