In June 1971 the Squadron attended the Corps’ 30th Anniversary Parade to Chester Cathedral. On 8th May 1973 Cdt Sergeant Thomas was the first of many 146 cadets to be presented with his Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award certificate, receiving it personally from the Duke himself at Buckingham Palace.
In 1979, the Squadron celebrated its 40th anniversary. The uniform changed from the battle dress jackets to the jumpers we know today.
